Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the LIA service operated by Jacopo Di Loreto, sole proprietor (Italian SRL in costituzione, P.IVA in attivazione) (“we”, “us”, “our”), accessible at liaplugin.com, including the LIA web application, LIA Bridge, and all related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Description of the Service
LIA is an AI music assistant for Ableton Live on macOS and Windows through a local bridge application (“LIA Bridge”) installed on your computer. You interact with LIA through a browser-based chat interface or in the web app, sending natural language commands. LIA processes your requests and sends supported control commands to your Ableton Live session in real time.
Other DAWs are not current live Bridge integrations; you can join the waitlist for support updates.
2. System Requirements
To use LIA, you need:
- macOS (Intel or Apple Silicon) or Windows 10/11
- A supported DAW (currently Ableton Live 12+, any edition)
- A modern web browser
- A stable internet connection
It is your responsibility to verify that you meet these requirements before subscribing.
3. Account Registration
To use LIA, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Plans and Pricing
4.1 Free Plan
New users can use LIA for free with 10 total trial production requests. The Free plan provides access to Standard AI and basic features. No credit card is required.
4.2 Paid Plans
LIA offers multiple paid subscription plans (Starter, Pro, Studio, Studio Max) billed monthly or annually through Polar.sh, our payment processor. Each paid plan includes a production room that recharges only after you use it up: Starter includes 30 productions, then fully recharges 4 hours later; Pro includes 75 productions, then fully recharges 3 hours later; Studio includes 150 productions, then fully recharges 2 hours later; and Studio Max includes 300 productions, then fully recharges 1 hour later. Paid plans include one manual reset per month.
4.3 Founder Plan
The Founder plan is available to the first 100 users only. It consists of a one-time payment of €699 covering the first year with Studio Max usage, roadmap voting, founder badge, and Founder access and priority support. After the first year, a Founder must choose a normal paid plan to keep paid-plan access. If no paid plan is active, usage reverts to Free-level access while the historical Founder badge remains.
4.4 Annual Payment and Upgrades
Annual payment may be offered with a plan-specific discount shown at checkout. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the remaining paid period. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next renewal cycle.
4.5 Usage Limits
Each paid plan has a production room and refresh cadence. These limits are designed to ensure fair access for all users. Unused production room does not carry over across refresh windows. Manual resets are limited to one per calendar month for paid plans.
5. Pricing Changes
We may modify pricing for subscription plans with at least 30 days notice sent to your registered email address. Price changes take effect at the start of your next renewal cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
6.1 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Polar.sh subscription management page. Upon cancellation, your plan access remains active until the end of your current paid period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan. Your account data is retained for 90 days in case you resubscribe.
6.2 Refund Policy
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on your initial subscription purchase. If you are not satisfied within 14 days, contact info@liaplugin.com for a full refund. Refunds are not available after the 14-day period or for subscription renewals. Founder refund terms are published on the Founder page.
7. Intellectual Property: Your Music
You own everything you create with LIA. Your DAW projects, audio files, MIDI compositions, and all musical output remain 100% yours. LIA does not claim any ownership, license, or rights over your creative work. Your projects never leave your computer. LIA Bridge only sends control commands, never audio or project files.
8. Intellectual Property: Our Service
The LIA service, including the web application, LIA Bridge software, AI integrations, branding, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Jacopo Di Loreto (sole proprietor, Italian SRL in costituzione). You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service without our written permission.
9. Data Collection and AI
With your explicit in-app consent, LIA may store anonymized generation parameters, pattern data, usage outcomes, and interaction logs to improve the product, quality systems, and LIA catalog. This data is stripped of direct personal identifiers. LIA does not store audio files or DAW project files for this purpose, does not sell your creative data, and does not claim rights over your music. You can withdraw this consent at any time in Settings without affecting paid-plan access. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what data is collected and how it is used.
Third-party AI providers process your chat messages via API access. Per their API terms, your data is not used for model training by these providers.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple users on a single account
- Attempt to bypass usage limits, authentication, or rate limits
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to third parties
- Use automated tools to send messages to LIA at scale beyond normal usage
11. Limitation of Liability
LIA is a creative tool, not a replacement for professional judgment. We provide the Service “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- LIA is not responsible for data loss in your DAW. LIA sends commands that modify your session in real time. Always save your project before using LIA.
- We do not guarantee that AI-generated outputs will be musically accurate, professional-grade, or free of errors.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The Service depends on third-party AI providers and their availability. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
13. Service Discontinuation
If we discontinue the Service, we will provide at least 60 days notice to all active subscribers. Subscribers will receive a prorated refund for unused time. Because your projects are local, discontinuation does not affect your DAW projects or music.
14. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy and the European Union. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Italy, without prejudice to your rights under GDPR or applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
